I used Hotjar several years ago, and Crazy Egg but was not very impressed with Crazy Egg as I remember it seemed overpriced. Hotjar was easier. But ChatGPT is telling me these are both a bit old, and Microsoft Clarity and Fullstory are more popular now, anyone have experience with either of these or even a third option? and are they pointless if users have Ad blocker installed?

Afaik these were popular like 5-10 years ago.

Not so much anymore. I don’t know why, I could be wrong.

But I recall seeing several clients with Hotjar scripts installed indefinitely and slowing the shit out of their website. I would always have to explain to them that heatmap tests should be temporary and then you remove the scripts.
